Paris France.- Three people have died and another three have been injured after a man opened fire this Friday in a central street in Paris.

The suspect was also injured, “particularly to the face,” prosecutor Laure Beccuau explained to the press.

The shots occurred in the 10th arrondissement of the French capital, near a Kurdish center located at Enghien street, according to BFMTV sources. A witness to the events told AFP that there were seven or eight shots in total, which sparked panic.

The motives of the attacker, who has already been arrested, are still unknown. The Parisian prosecutor’s office identified the attacker as a 69-year-old man and has already opened an investigation on charges of murder, manslaughter and aggravated violence.

A year ago, he was the subject of another investigation for racist violence: he was arrested for attacking a migrant camp in the 12th arrondissement with a sword, BFMTV has learned.
