In the last few hours, the General Customs Administration reported on a fine of almost 20 million dollars imposed on a Pirelli Group company for carrying out alleged over-invoicing maneuvers with the importation of tires.
From the organization they explained that although the tires entered from Brazil directly, the billing was triangulated by appealing to a third operator based in Italy, from the same economic group as the Argentine importer.
In addition, they pointed out that, from a data crossing, they detected that the Italian company Prometeon Tire Group applied an overbilling margin of 30 percent, on average.
In this sense, from Prometeon Tire Group they detached themselves from the accusation and claimed that their operations are carried out “under the highest standards of compliance with local and international regulations and laws.”
