Tokyo Vice Season 2 wraps filming

But no release date yet, due to the strike and post-production work.

It was one of the best series of 2022: the excellent tokyo vice, broadcast in France on Canal +, is not going to stop there. Ken Watanabe, Ansel Elgort, Rachel Keller, and Rinko Kikuchi have shot Season 2 which will address the cliffhangers left hanging at the end of Season 1.

THE producer Alex Boden reveals to Variety that this shooting is now over, but that the post-production process of the series is long, especially since the strike does not help:

“We all hope for a resolution of the strikes for the good of all, for all those who are directly affected. I hope that we can release season 2 at a time when everyone is able to promote it. Ansel Elgort and Rachel Both Keller have spent a lot of time and energy learning Japanese, and by the way, they now speak Japanese very well. It would be a shame not to be able to showcase such involvement!”

HBO Max

Alex Boden confides in passing that this season 2 of tokyo vice won’t be the last: “There are many possibilities for future seasons” but no decision will be made before the launch of season 2 which will have 10 episodes. “Wowow, our co-production partner in Japan – which is very rare – has been very supportive of the show and there’s a lot of belief in the show in Japan, and certainly there will be an urge to continue this story.”
