Puerto Vallarta (Mexico), Apr 30 (EFE).- The American Tony Finau signed a 66-stroke card this Sunday to win the title at the PGA Mexico Open, sixth of his career, ahead of the Spanish Jon Rahm, recent champion of the master, in second place.

Finau made five ‘birdies’ and concluded with 260 shots, three ahead of Rahm, number one in the world ranking, who this Saturday delivered a spectacular card of 61, 10 under par, but in the fourth round he did not show the same performance and failed to revalidate the title won in 2022.

“Rahm is number one in the world and beating him has been fabulous; I wasn’t sure of victory until the end,” said Finau, who claimed his second title of the season.

The Argentine Emiliano Grillo had a fourth round of 65 shots with which he jumped to fifth place and his compatriot Alejandro Tosti finished tenth, after completing a good day on Sunday, with 64 impacts.

The Mexico Open was played from Thursday to Sunday with a prize pool of 7.7 million dollars.
