Honors for deserving members on the occasion of the annual general meeting in the clubhouse.

On the occasion of the annual general meeting of the Wolfurt gymnastics association, there were over 100 members and vice mayors. Angelika Moosbrugger and Karin Engstler (President of the Vorarlberg Gymnastics Association) in the clubhouse. After commemorating deceased members of the association, determining the quorum, the reports from the individual divisions and the discharge and election of the board, Chairman August Reis thanked everyone for the successful implementation of the new association structure after only one year and stated: “Due to higher ongoing Costs for the technical operation and the employment of another trainer for 50 percent must be adjusted to the membership fees. After detailed discussion in the board and the sports team, a good mean value was found. For the rest of the year, the contribution for a gymnastics lesson converted to the association year remains below 1 euro.” The need to increase the membership contributions was therefore unanimously accepted.

honors and farewells

Before moving on to the social part of the evening, some figureheads of the association received honours. Artistic gymnast Aurea Wutschka, for example, won the team state championship title in the elite with the Vorarlberg team and was successful in the individual and all-around competitions. The highlights of her gymnastics year were participation in the EYOF (the European Youth Olympic Games) in Slovakia and the Gymnova Cup in Belgium. Artistic gymnast David Bickel also qualified for the EYOF in 2022 and for the Junior European Championships in Munich. Numerous top placings in international preparatory competitions as well as a 1st place in the junior ÖM on the rings rounded off a successful year for him. 17 Wolfurt team gymnasts were part of the Austrian national squad in 2022 and were allowed to take part in the European Championships in Luxembourg. They were honored as well as the Wolfurt Team-Turn senior team, which won the state championship title in 2022 in front of a home crowd in Wolfurt. Martin Höfle and Fabio Sereinig were said goodbye, but they will remain with the club and gymnastics in different areas.

With great applause, Othmar Gratt accepted the certificate of honorary membership of the Wolfurt Gymnastics Association for his voluntary work. After 40 years as a trainer, kit man and 20 years as a board member, he is now starting his well-deserved retirement. Thanks were also given to Manfred Gasser, who headed the business team for many years, but of course continues to support the association with advice and action at festivities. After the perfectly organized meeting, the gymnastics fans of different ages met for a drink at the clubhouse bar and were already looking forward to the next highlight. On February 3rd, after a two-year break, the Turnerball will finally take place in the Cubus again. You can already look forward to a spectacular evening at the ball.
