Are you excited to see what Turtle Rock had planned in their original concept of Left 4 Dead? Then you’re in luck, a very early prototype has been leaked in a playable state, giving you access to the Zombie City map that was developed for Counter-Strike: Condition Zero. Before it finally broke loose and became Valve’s iconic Zombie Butcherfest. It is unclear who is responsible for the leak, but it is available for download to Counter-Strike: Source, where you and three other friends can fight terrorists who only use their fists. A simple survival concept in other words but fun from a historical perspective.
The importance of the leak is great as it not only gives us an early insight into one of the genre’s most influential games, but also gives us the opportunity to experience it ourselves in a playable state. We’re not linking the prototype here, but it shouldn’t be a problem for the curious to google it.
