LATEST: The man has been remanded in custody for four weeks with a letter and visiting ban.

Already when he was 20 years old, the 26-year-old was sentenced for hitting another man with a vacuum cleaner tube.

At the same time, he was convicted of knife threats against both of his parents. During questioning in the case, he also threatened a third person, according to a judgment from the Borgarting Court of Appeal.

In the same case, he was convicted of keeping significant quantities of Rivotril tablets and several thefts.

For these conditions, and several other criminal offences, the man was sentenced to six months in prison.

Got a new sentence

Two and a half years ago, in August 2020, he was violent again.

Together with a friend, they met a man outside an address that drug addicts often visit. The offended man was there to mark the annual overdose day, he has explained.

The accused and his companion held him in a neck hold. They then punched him repeatedly in the face.

In court, the 26-year-old explained that he was intoxicated during the incident, and that the victim owed him NOK 2,000 for some Rivotril he had sold him five years earlier. However, the victim explained that he has never bought anything from the accused.

Several hours later, elsewhere in Oslo, the 26-year-old spat in the same man’s face.

The now 26-year-old man was sentenced to community service after the violent incident.

Denies criminal liability

On Monday, the 26-year-old sits in Follo and Nordre Østfold district court.

The prosecution has been successful in its request for remand for four weeks with a ban on letters and visits.

The man denies criminal guilt and asked in court to be released.

The accused was dressed in dark blue clothes and was clearly affected by the situation. After he arrived on floor 2 in Follo and Nordre Østfold district court, he buried his face in his hands and wept openly.

The court session was held behind closed doors at the request of the police. This means that the press was not allowed to be present.
