When Zack Snyder released Man of Steel in 2013, Superman was bigger and better than ever thanks to Henry Cavill’s brilliant performance. But there was something missing… his classic red underpants, something Snyder then called “a modern aesthetic.”

As you might expect, fans had opinions about this. Lots of them. And with a new Superman movie planned, DC Studios’ new James Gunn wanted to know whether or not his interpretation of the character would have Calsipper, and asked the question on Twitter.

Unfortunately, we have both good and bad news about the outcome of this important issue. The good news is that the only sane and reasonable outcome won – and by a significant margin: Superman needs red fillings. No more flying command, in other words! The bad news, however, is that Gunn later clarified:

“Btw this is for fun. We’re not going to decide whether Superman has trunks or no trunks based on an egregiously non-scientific Twitter poll.”

What do you think, should Superman have summons or not?
