O Twitter made the text editor even more useful and introduced the 10,000-character tweet limit for Twitter Blue subscribers. This Friday (14), the official profile of the Twitter Write platform announced that the network “makes improvements to the writing and reading experience” and, from now on, long posts and bold and italic formatting options are available to those who pay the Blue version.
The new text editor options are simple, but they represent yet another layer of options to make texts more personalized on Twitter. With them, users will be able to write excerpts in bold to give greater emphasis on a specific term or in italics to mark any hidden special meaning.
Tweets with 10k characters
With Elon Musk in charge of Twitter, the social network is moving away from being a platform for quick and short thoughts – at least if you are willing to pay for it. According to the official Twitter Write profile post, all Twitter Blue subscribers can now write tweets of up to 10,000 characters.
In February of this year, the platform implemented the first significant increase: subscriber tweets were no longer limited to 280 characters and jumped to posts with up to 4,000 touches. Many took advantage of the novelty to make larger publications without having to use threads.
With the limit of 10,000 characters, the social network will be able to receive even larger tweets. To give you an idea, 10,000 characters are, on average, 1,500 words or a three-page Word article — almost four times more than the text of this news, for example.
In Brazil, Twitter Blue is not cheap and costs from R$42 per month.
Twitter Subscriptions
On Thursday (13), Twitter gave birth to Subscriptions, the overhaul of Super Follows available to content creators. The solution allows users to charge for exclusive content and, in the future, will support additional formats such as newsletters.
