The Xiaomi Smart Band 8 should be officially unveiled on April 18th, but the product has already appeared in pre-sales on AliExpress. The ad also shows several images of the gadget, which should bring quite a variety of bracelet options.
In addition to the more traditional silicone bracelets, the product can also have adapters intended for use as a necklace, or even hooked to a sneaker.
With that, the Xiaomi Smart Band 8 should offer more versatile alternatives for use, which can be useful when performing physical exercises, for example. On the other hand, in some cases the measurement of body data would be compromised, due to the lack of contact with the skin.
As with previous generations, the wristbands will be available in a wide variety of colors. Options in synthetic material that imitates leather can also be seen, in shades such as yellow or green.
Metallic options also appear in the ad, in silver or black. Furthermore, the construction of the Smart Band 8 remains a pill-shaped core with an AMOLED technology display.
The technical features of the new generation have not yet been confirmed by the announcement, but it is likely that it will bring improvements in aspects such as the monitoring of body information itself, including during physical exercises.
For comparison, the Smart Band 7 brings compatibility with more than 110 sports activities, in addition to monitoring aspects such as heart rate and blood oxygen level (SpO2).
In Canaltech’s analysis, the variety of activity options was one of the bracelet’s most praised points.
Another area that is often highlighted in Xiaomi’s bracelet range is the battery. In this sense, the Xiaomi Band 7 offers up to 14 days of typical use, or nine days of heavy use.
O AliExpress ad shows that the bracelet will have an official price close to R$ 300, but a version sold directly in Brazil should arrive next for a higher price.
