A shooting left two men injured Tuesday afternoon in Mount Pleasant in northwest DC, police said.
The preliminary report revealed that the victims were taken conscious and breathing to the hospital, but the motive for the shooting that occurred in the 3100 block of NW 16th Street is still unknown.
Police have yet to identify those involved.
Residents of the area were dismayed by the constant violent incidents that have been reported in the area in recent months. On this occasion, the shooting occurred in front of the Bell Multicultural School.
“Yes, he is complaining a lot about the insecurity because things are often happening that should not be seen and then with his children watching. Here we have a school there and a shooting here,” said Osman Chicas.
The authorities did not offer more information about the health status of the victims.
