The authorities of the State of Mexico (Edomex) announced the link to the process of two former officials of the municipality of Villa Guerrero for his alleged participation in extortion crimes.

Both subjects were captured on December 13 by elements of the Investigative Police (POI), in response to a citizen complaint through which they reported that two individuals who worked as municipal delegates had demanded the delivery of cash to property owners in exchange for not cutting off their irrigation water or causing them harm.
Derived from the citizen report, personnel from the Mexican Prosecutor’s Office carried out investigative work and an operation to verify the complaint was deployed in the vicinity of the offices of the Villa Guerrero City Hall delegation, located in the town Santiago Oxtotitlan.
The actions of the elements of the Prosecutor’s Office resulted in the capture of both subjects, who were insured various envelopes with cashpresumably obtained from the extortion carried out, as well as a ballot with lists of names of people.

José Virgilio “N” and Héctor “N” were presented before the Agent of the Public Ministry, who initiated the respective investigation for the aforementioned criminal act.
Subsequently, both individuals were placed at the disposal of a Judge at the Penitentiary and Social Reintegration Center of the area, who decreed the legality of their detention and linked them to proceedings for the illegal extortion with the aggravating circumstances of have been committed with violencewith threats of death the passive or a third party and show off as members of any association or criminal group.
The Judicial Authority granted a period of one month for the closure of the complementary investigation and a precautionary measure of preventive detention for the detainees.
Likewise, on December 17, a third delegate from the municipality was arrested by agents of the Regional Prosecutor’s Office of Salt Ixtapan while he was traveling in a vehicle in which he was transporting almost 350 thousand pesos allegedly the product of extortion.
This, identified as Jose Alberto “H” it would also be linked to the Michoacana Family, according to local media reports. He was arrested in an inter-institutional operation headed by the Ixtapan de la Sal Prosecutor’s Office on the Palmillas-Axixintla highway.
La Familia Michoacana is one of the cartels with the greatest presence in the State of Mexico and operates in the area called Tierra Caliente, made up of the entities of Michoacán, Guerrero and the State of Mexico.
According to the report of the Secretary of National Defense (Sedena), the criminal group to which the now detainee belonged had a presence in at least three Edomex municipalities: Villa Guerrero, Tenango del Valle and Tenancingobut the FGJEM have also identified them in Ecatepec, Nezahualcóyotl, La Paz, Chimalhuacán, Chalco and Ixtapaluca
