Two young people lose their lives in an accident in Coamo

Two residents of the Helechal neighborhood in Barranquitas lost their lives in a car accident reported at around 8:57 p.m. on Saturday on the PR-143 highway, specifically at kilometer 54.1, in the Pulguilla neighborhood in Coamo.

The police report reveals that Wilson Negrón Rodríguez, 31, was driving a gray 1991 Toyota Corolla on the aforementioned road and was accompanied by Geraldo R. Torres Rivera, 26.

Apparently, the driver was speeding and due to such carelessness he lost control of the steering wheel and hit a dirt slope and then crashed into a mango tree on the banks of a ravine.

Both occupants of the vehicle were seriously injured which caused their death on the spot.

Agent Melvin Alvarado attached to the Aibonito Highway Patrol Division of the Puerto Rico Police Bureau, together with prosecutor Juan Santos, took charge of the investigation.
