On Wednesday, the VGT published pictures of a Vorarlberg farm where the conditions for the animals seemed to be bad.
Dogs in the kennel, cattle on mountains of rubbish with heavy manure sheets and the barn resembles a manure lake – the VGT published pictures of a company in the Feldkirch district on Wednesday and calls for the animals to be taken away.
Animal dead in stable
The bad conditions for the animals can be seen in the pictures. Several cattle stand out due to reddened skin, deformed udders and sunken bodies – one of the animals is even dead in the barn. A manure lake has been created on the farm, silo bales are still standing in the middle, waste is piling up in the cattle barn – the cows are climbing around on the mountains of silage film and plastic cords.
Other animals are also kept on the farm, including dogs that live in a kennel and two rabbits that are kept incommunicado. As the VGT reports, a few weeks ago there was an inspection by the district authority after there were deficiencies in chicken husbandry – these are now kept outdoors. The barn has now been sold, but it is unclear what will happen to the animals.
