Given the lack of response to their salary demands, the Television Union (SATSAID) ratified a new cessation of activities for 24 hours for this Thursday in the main companies in the country of ICT sector, video and connectivity, cable television services, Internet access and telecommunications. Along with the national strike, the union announced that it will mobilize at the doors of the most representative companies of the activity; while in the AMBA the march will take place at the headquarters of the Argentine ICT, Video & Connectivity Association (ATVC), located at Avenida de Mayo 749.
Negotiations between the union and the employers are at a standstill, since none of the parties wanted to give up their positions. In the last hearing at the Ministry of Labor, SATSAID maintained its demand for an 80 percent increase that, added to the 33 percent already agreed, would accumulate an annual increase of 113 percent. Businessmen, for their part, only offered 11.5 percent for December and 11.5 percent for February, month in which they would meet again to establish new improvements.
Given the abysmal difference between the proposals, the General Secretary of the Television union, Horacio Arreceygor, told iProfessional that “accepting the employers’ proposal is to sign an agreement with lower wagesThat is why we put on record our resounding rejection and the decision to continue with our fight plan.”
It indicated that “an increase of this nature, as the companies in the ICT, video and connectivity, cable television services, Internet access and telecommunications sectors intend to impose does not resolve the serious wage gap and does not correctly address future inflation projections.” As it is a national strike, SATSAID ordered that “each sectional will provide and implement the modality of the protest in its jurisdictionaccording to what it deems appropriate to make the measure of force more effective”.
If there is no agreement, the measures of force will continue
The strike could affect cable television service, Internet access and telecommunications, according to union sources, warning that if there is no immediate solution to the demands, the conflict could deepen next week. The fight plan includes the personnel who are under the Collective Labor Agreement 223/75.
Arreceygor added that “we have been proposing to businessmen in the sector the urgent need for a salary recomposition taking into account the rise in prices in general and food prices in particular.” He listed that “we request a review of the semester and a salary readjustment of 80 percent for all personnel in the country that, added to the 33 percent already paid in the first semester, would complete the parity period with a total increase of 113 percent.”.

He requested that a part of this increase be applied from December 1, and also “a non-remunerative sum equivalent to the net salary increase of each worker” and clarified that “we are talking about closing the joint July 2022-June 2023” and indicated that “we are within the inflationary margins and the agreements reached by the majority of trade union organizations.
They warn that “the employers want to adjust through wages”
He recalled that “since the beginning of the negotiations, we demonstrated our dialoguist position; we held three meetings with the purpose of reaching an agreement without the need to go to forceful measures and we explained the needs of the workers,” and reported that ” it seems that employers want to adjust through salary“.
He stressed that “we are seeing how, in general terms, employers continue to accumulate profits at the expense of the efforts of the workers” and recalled that “in our activity we suffered from the pandemic and the quarantine; in some sectors we were essential, but jobs were also lost of work; but now that there is a recovery, it seems that we do not deserve that the income improves, but that we are considered the adjustment variable“.
He warned that “the Government will make efforts to control inflation, but the price makers continue to move as they please while the ones who continue to pay are the working class, who are punished below with the cost of living and above with the payment of income tax.
