Highly classified Pentagon documents have found their way onto social media in the United States. A member of the air national guard, only 21 years old, had shared these confidential notes on the internet, without arousing any suspicion.
His name and address had come out in the press. The young man placed his hands on his head and surrendered without resisting the American soldiers. Jack Teixeira, 21, was immediately taken into custody. Particularly heavy charges were brought against him “in the context of an investigation for the illegal possession and transmission of classified national defense documents”said Merrick Garland, Attorney General of the United States.
Hundreds of pages published online
The young Air Force soldier, a computer specialist, had access to confidential documents. He shared them on the social network Discord to denounce according to him the abuse of power of the American army, while asking the interlocutors not to bring them out publicly. But hundreds of pages have been published online. It reads the results of the war in Ukraine, the requests made by President Zelensky to make up for the material weaknesses of his army and even some action plans.
