Saturday, May 6, in Texas (United States), a man killed eight people by shooting into the crowd with an assault rifle. A police officer who was at the scene managed to kill the shooter.
The shooter didn’t even take the time to park. He got out of his car and opened fire on passers-by in front of him. In the parking lot of a shopping center, people in front of an H&M store were the first to fall during this carnage which will leave eight dead and seven injured, in Allen, Texas (United States), Saturday May 6. “We heard gunshots, saw lights and we took refuge in the store, closing the door”, says a woman. A police officer who was on the scene for another case walked towards the gunfire and managed to kill the shooter. The toll could therefore have been even higher.

“I lost three people before my eyes, I couldn’t do anything for them. It’s really hard. Under the body of a woman, I found a little boy. I asked him if he was hit . He was telling me ‘my mom is hurt’. So, rather than traumatize him even more, I took him behind a building. His face was covered in blood.”, remembers Steven Spainhouer, the first rescuer on the scene. The governor of Texas, as in previous killings in the state, explained that the only solution to a “bad armed person” was to have “a good person armed in front”.
