Through a statement, the Colo Colo Social and Sports Club ruled on the new complaint from Jordhy Thompson’s former partner for repeated acts of violence.
Jordhy Thompson again makes news for non-soccer issues. The young Colo Colo midfielder was denounced by his ex-partnerwho shared on social networks some images and videos of the violence suffered by the soccer player.
The player had previously been separated from the squad, but he was given a second chance to be reinstated to the first team, being part of some calls in recent games, as well as returning to activity in the field of youth football.
CSD Colo Colo rejects new acts of violence
Through a statement, the Colo Colo Social and Sports Club was not absent from the complaints that were made legally and on social networks by the former couple, they rejected the repeated act of violence by Jordhy Thompson, pointing out that an untenable case is being made .
“The Colo Colo Social and Sports Club expresses its absolute rejection of the repeated acts of violence carried out by the footballer against his ex-partnerthose that have the nature of serious crimes and completely contravene the principles and values that should govern our institution”, they point out in their first point.
But that was not all, because they also considered that “In view of the seriousness and repetition of the facts, we consider that Jordhy Thompson’s permanence in these conditions is unsustainable.. We believe that the footballer trained in Colo Colo must be accompanied in a serious and long-term re-education process”.
On this same point, they considered that “the same urgency is to take measures regarding the training of our athletes, especially those who have been at Casa Alba since they were children.”
The Colo Colo Social and Sports Club made contact to meet with the Ministry of Women and Gender Equity, in addition to the Gender Advisory of the Ministry of Sports, which allows it to move forward together towards the comprehensive training plan so that in a way to incorporate education and prevention tools on gender violence to all levels of the institution.
They even considered that they are available to move forward on this path and continue building a pioneering institution, not only on the field, but also off it.
