The United States ambassador to Mexico, Ken Salazar, confirmed that he tested positive for Covid-19 and that he will suspend his activities to follow the protocols established by the United States Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC for its acronym in English). .

Through his social networks, the diplomat announced the contagion, coincidentally two days after President Andrés Manuel López Obrador also reported that he was infected with the SARS-CoV-2 coronavirus.

“We have to continue taking care of ourselves against Covid because it is still latent. I want to inform you that after doing a test I came out positive. I feel fine, but I will suspend my activities to follow the protocols established by the @CDCgov,” said Salazar.

Hours before the US ambassador reported on his health condition, the Secretary of Public Security, Rosa Icela Rodríguez, said on her Twitter account that she had met with Salazar to “continue with the coordinated work in favor of the construction of the peace” between Mexico and the United States.
