Juarez City.- Around a thousand children who live in vulnerable neighborhoods in Ciudad Juárez and belong to children’s farms will celebrate Children’s Day at the San Jorge Recreation Center zoo on April 26 at 10:00 in the morning.

Clara Torres, director of the Chihuahuan Institute for Comprehensive Child Development (ICHIDii), explained that she will take children under 30 centers who live in the Lucio Blanco, Satélite, Revolución Mexicana, Puerto La Paz, Papigochi, Prados de Santa Ana neighborhoods, among others. .

He added that it is also intended to publicize that in the border city there is a zoo with 350 animals. Officials from various secretaries of the State Government were invited to the event.

“In Ciudad Juárez we have an impressive zoo with more than 300 species in perfect condition (…) We had this dream of bringing children together with animals and making known a great treasure that is this zoo.”

Officials from the different secretariats of the State Government will participate in the event, who will present information sheets on some animals that live in the zoo.

Torres commented that the State Government supported him by paying for the tickets for the minors to celebrate their day.

“This is a self-sustaining place, because they not only have the zoo, they have a recreational area, so we are a part of those who are going to support them, because there are a thousand tickets, we are going to pay for the tickets so that they have an additional income (…) In fact, they did offer us that in the event that we did not have a budget, they would open the doors of the zoo for us, ”said the head of the ICHIDii.

For the transportation of minors to the recreation center, the Viggo company provided a fleet of 30 units free of charge.

“We offered to support them, it is important to be able to make the children happy and they will also learn,” said Nohemí Escañuelas, a representative of the company.

The manager of the zoo, Arturo Silva, attended the press conference, who mentioned that they will continue to open the space for the promotion of the culture of care and protection of animals.

“Today, zoos play a very important role, they are regulated by certain government bodies, such as Profepa and Semarnat, which give us the guidelines to keep this large number of species under human care (…) We can say that Juárez has a zoo and it belongs to us, for our children, for our children and for future generations,” Silva said.
