The main novelty of Secrets of Gloomrot is the introduction of the eponymous biome, separated into two zones. In these impious mountains where the Trancendum reigns, a group of mad and immoral scientists, the soils are ravaged by the toxic fumes of glaucous laboratories, filling the marshes with sulphur. When it’s not the water tables that are vitiated, it’s the lightning that falls on the desolate plains. Here is a new mechanic of the extension: the weather. Necromantic mists, violent gusts, destructive storms… certain areas will have their own temperament to tame. Not to mention the new points of interest scattered across the map. In return, the world of Vardoran will now host merchant outposts to better equip themselves before plunging into danger.

It will take that to face the new enemies swarming in Gloomrot, and above all, the 13 new bosses scattered throughout the map. Exploring the new biome from top to bottom will bring you face to face with “the ultimate weapon of war”, sort of the zone’s final boss. To slay the beast, Secrets of Gloomrot introduces legendary weapons, with random properties – and high damage. Two new weapon types are introduced: Twin Pistols and Heavy Sword. THE playstyles more disembodied are not abandoned: the entire magic system is described as “redesigned”, with the introduction of a new branch, Stormdedicated to lightning and its applications to others.
Excluding castagne, Secrets of Gloomrot also introduces new tools to build the evil castle of your dreams. Gone are the dull apartments on the ground floor; From May 17, it will be possible to build multi-storey palaces, just to make the most of the land acquired. Not that the exteriors are neglected; you can also create your gothic garden at your convenience. New workshops will allow you to (re)forge legendary weapons, but also customize your magic gems, new accessories that modify our spells.
