A man was killed, hit by a TGV on Thursday February 23 at Alfortville station (Val-de-Marne), after being pushed by his victim from whom he was trying to steal a bag, franceinfo learned on Friday from a source close to investigation.

The accident took place Thursday evening around 8:05 p.m. According to several witnesses, the man who was killed had tried to steal a bag from a person on the tracks, with the help of an accomplice. The victim then struggled and in the scuffle, pushed one of his attackers, causing him to fall on the tracks. It was at this moment that a TGV struck the individual as he was passing at high speed. Rail traffic was interrupted until 9:15 p.m. at Alfortville station.
