VERA star Riley Jones has been inundated with messages of support after taking an exciting step in her career.
ITV actor Riley, 34, has starred on the show since his debut in 2011 as DC Mark Edwards.

As the youngest member of Vera’s team, Mark is very hardworking and eager to prove he has what it takes to be in the force.
The hit ITV program is now in its twelfth series, with Vera’s new cast recently revealed.
While on a trip to New York, Riley spotted an image of the show on one of Times Square’s iconic billboards.
It showed Brenda Blethyn, who plays DCI Vera Stanhope, looking over her shoulder in a dramatic promotional photo.
Riley can also be seen peeking behind him at the huge poster, in an image posted to his Twitter page.
In his caption, he wrote: “I stood in Times Square looking at a billboard for a show I’m on!
“A show that has been part of my life for over 12 years. A show that is about to air its 50th episode.
“A show that highlights our beautiful Northeast to the world. Super proud and eternally grateful.
Fans were quick to rejoice at her latest upload, writing, “What an awesome feeling!”
Another said: ‘You are all doing an amazing job’, as a third wrote: ‘Congratulations to all the cast and crew on reaching 50th episode enjoy New York Riley hope you you will have fun xx.”
One then said: “Ahh wow, great pic Riley, I’m so glad you’re part of Vera – it’s an amazing show that I’m also grateful for and super proud that it’s based in the Northeast. Hope everyone is doing well and having a brilliant 2023 and congratulations on the 50th episode x”
Besides Vera, he is also known for his roles in Run and Wolfblood.
Riley also made appearances on EastEnders as Lola Pearce’s fiancée.
There were a total of four episodes for Vera’s series 12, which ended on February 19.
