Socialist Marc Angel was elected. But in the first round of voting (secret), the far-right candidate won 179 votes. That is more than the number of far-right deputies.

MArc Angel was elected, this Wednesday noon, Vice-President of the European Parliament. The Luxembourg socialist replaces Eva Kaili. An election that was announced without much suspense, both the conservatives of the EPP and the liberals of Renew having announced on Tuesday that they would support the candidate proposed for the S&D.
