The rupture of a gas pipe in the middle of the street in Villa Elvira produced a loss that is trying to be solved by personnel from Camuzzi, Civil Protection of the Municipality of La Plata and Firefighters. It happened during the morning of this Tuesday at 121 and 600, for reasons that are trying to be established.
The video came to 0221.com.ar through a neighbor who denounced that the gas had been contaminating the area for more than an hour, still without anyone approaching to correct the fault.
Later, as detailed to this portal, the incident was beginning to be controlled by company operators and municipal workers, in addition to the Fire Department.
The break would have been produced by one of the machines that are fixing the street. For their part, some residents decided to leave the neighborhood because of the toxic smell that began to be felt.
From the place they specified that not only a main gas pipe broke, but also another water one. “We spoke with the neighbors and some left the area because of the smell that was felt in the street,” said those responsible for the work to solve the incident.
“They have to plug it by making two wells on both sides of the pipe; the area will be safer there to fix the break itself,” they specified. This job can be ready after noon.
