On the police surveillance footage from autumn 2018 – which SVT was able to publish in January this year – the 25-year-old is seen meeting his underlings in Sundsvall on two occasions.

That investigation eventually led to charges and sentences for serious drug crimes, including against a now 22-year-old man who was described as the 25-year-old’s closest man in Sundsvall. The 22-year-old Sundsvall resident is currently serving a long-term prison sentence.

But the 25-year-old himself was only in the preliminary investigation material – he was never charged at the time.

Now Sundsvall’s district court, at senior prosecutor Lo Jonsson’s request, has detained the 25-year-old on suspicion of crime on several counts. It is partly about two cases of gross drug smuggling that must have been committed at the turn of the year 2020-2021, and partly about an attempt at gross drug smuggling during the same time period.

Larger hash deliveries

It concerns two deliveries of hashish totaling ten and a half kilos to two different and named addressees in Sundsvall. A third hashish delivery of 5.5 kilos was discovered and stopped in Barcelona, Spain – also addressed to a resident of Sundsvalls.

And then a money laundering crime that is said to have been committed at an address in Sundsvall in early December 2020. According to the prosecutor’s arrest request, the 25-year-old should have kept 85,000 kroner in cash in a protective vest, money that is believed to come from crime.

Denies – contests detention

The 25-year-old is thus detained in his absence because he has been abroad for a long time.

At the detention hearing, his defense attorney announced that the 25-year-old denies the money laundering charges. He also contested the detention request and the restrictions requested by the prosecutor. But the court went completely on the prosecutor’s line.

SVT has asked senior prosecutor Lo Jonsson for a comment.
