The Vulkan Rincon de la Vieja in Costa Rica broke out on Friday. It is mainly hot material from the crater lake up to 2.500 Meter shot up over the peak, shared geologist the national emergency commission (CNE) in a video with. According to the authorities, there were initially no reports of injuries or damage to the infrastructure.

According to the CNE, there had already been minor outbreaks of the virus throughout the week 1,895 meters highin the Northwestern Province Guanacaste located volcano given. Toxic gases
The risk of another eruption of the Rincón de la Vieja ranks Costa Rica’s Volcanic and Seismological Observatory (Ovsicori) on a scale of 1 to 4 2 a. Accordingly, smaller eruptions with “significant emissions of toxic gases” are possible.
Residents are now asked not to go near the rivers and streams that run along the north side of the volcano: they could be contaminated by the released substances. In Costa Rica there is 120 volcanoeshowever, are only 5 of them active.
