A video shared through social networks shows the moment in which an attempt of fire inside one of the hangars belonging to the iFly aviation schoollocated in the Merida International Airport.
After the Sureste Airport Group (assur) announced that a plane belonging to this institution suffered a mechanical breakdown on the general aviation runway, Facebook users began to share images and videos questioning the safety of their aircraft.
One of them was shared by the user “Capi Koy”, in which personnel from the maintenance area of iFlywho are dressed in red and white polo shirts, arranging what appears to be an aviation instrument.
The images show two people holding the device on a plastic table and a third person with a screwdriver gun. When the tool is activated, a flame comes out that sets the equipment on fireas well as a cloth with which they covered it.
Out of fright, one of the workers drops the cloth and tries to put it out with his feet, but his efforts to mitigate the flames are in vain and he ends up kicking him near an aircraft sheltered in the hangar.
After several attempts to put out the firetwo of his colleagues had to use a fire extinguisher to put it out, to the surprise of other people who were in the place.
It should be noted that these incidents occur within its facilities at the air terminal, so the event was kept secret. However, this has not been the case with the plane crashes he has had lately.
