In the latest report by Yahoo! Finance describes the activities carried out by the Embracer Group to expand the Archive which houses thousands of video games, consoles and accessories from the past that risk being forgotten.
The Swedish holding that controls video game realities of the caliber of THQ Nordic, Koch Media, Saber Interactive, Gearbox Entertainment, Coffee Stain and Dark Horse has in fact decided to finance a Archive intended to collect games, platforms, gadgets and accessories from the past.
The project, edited by David Bostrom and launched at the beginning of 2022, it has already received funding from the Embracer Group in excess of two million dollars, a sum spent to acquire over 50,000 video games and consoles which represent, as Bostrom himself explains, “an invaluable heritage that is worth celebrating and safeguarding for the future. Our goal is clear, we want to archive and save everything that has been produced by the video game industry”.
The Embracer Group Archive can be admired in the large exhibition space set up in Karlstad, Sweden. Thanks also to the huge investments guaranteed by Embracerthe team led by Bostrom aims to extend its network of contacts to forge collaborations with institutions, museums and newspapers interested in the preservation of video games of the past, as well as organizing special events, exhibitions and exhibition spaces to be set up throughout the world.
