Mexico City.- A video went viral on social networks where officials from the Tuxtla Gutiérrez City Hall, Chiapas, seized the merchandise that a child was selling on the streets and also made fun of the child.
A man who was passing through the area where the events took place was the one who captured the moment in which the staff made fun of the child to the point of making him cry.
Officials seize merchandise from a child in Chiapas
The merchandise was a cart of pork rinds that, according to the witness, the boy had not been selling for a short time when the officials appeared.
Despite the fact that the man recording the event mentions having tried to follow the officials to take away the minor’s merchandise, they ran to leave it in an official van.
In the clip you can see the little boy crying inconsolably, which caused ridicule in one of the prosecutors who took his merchandise.
Despite the fact that there were more street vendors in the place, the officials only took the merchandise from the child.
According to Sin Embargo, the round of officials who intimidated the minor was headed by the Morenista Carlos Orsoé Morales Vázquez; however, it should be noted that it does not appear in the video.
In order to help the child whose merchandise was taken from him, a person gave him a ticket to “alleviate” the bad moment that happened.
This is not the first time that this type of action has been evidenced by officials in Chiapas, because according to testimonies collected by Sin Embargo and other local state media, this type of abuse against street vendors is constant.
Until now the Municipal Government of the state has not manifested itself regarding the video.
