Video shows family escaping from trailer home fire in Venice

A tremendous fire breaks out inside a mobile home, where homeless people lived. Now, the police are investigating multiple crimes and have arrested one person.

Investigators believe the crash was provoked and the case remains under investigation.

Smoke began billowing from the trailer parked on Lake Street after noon.

In the surveillance images, it is seen how very high flames quickly broke out.

“There is a cable that is above that is burned and it is cut by the same fire and it is quite high, we are talking about 20 feet high, which are the flames,” said a neighbor in the area.

The neighbor did not want to reveal his identity. He, as well as other residents, have confirmed that the homelessness crisis has brought trash, crime and a lack of security to this Venice neighborhood.

They ensure that they park permanently on the streets.

“We’ve had six mobile homes burn down in less than six months on this side of Lincoln street,” said Daniel Wojack, a resident of the area.

This time, a mother and her four children lived in the mobile home.

In the surveillance images, a minor is seen leaving the window and moments later a man without a shirt escapes, both suffered burns.

“Thank God it is a window that could have been broken, but if not, they could have broken the window, we are talking about victims inside the vehicle,” said a neighbor.

Investigators went to the scene and with specialized dogs captured evidence. Police confirmed that they arrested one person for allegedly setting the fire and for domestic violence. Both crimes are now under investigation.
