A fire broke out early Wednesday at a diesel tank in the Adlersky district of the Russian Black Sea resort of Sochi, Krasnodar Region Governor Veniamin Kondratiev said, Reuters reports.

The Russian official stated that, according to preliminary information, there were no casualties.
“The reasons for the incident are under investigation,” Kondratiev said.

The warehouse is located near the airport, according to the RIA Novosti agency, quoted by Al Jazeera.
Mash, a Russian news channel, posted video footage of a large plume of smoke rising over the city, saying explosions were heard before the fire broke out.
The resort of Sochi is considered the favorite resort of President Vladimir Putin and Russian oligarchs.
