The AMBA bus strike scheduled for this afternoon, as it reached Misión Buenos Aires (lines 129) and Metropol (line 195), companies that make the journey between La Plata and the Federal Capital, was finally lifted. As reported, the businessmen of the sector and representatives of the Ministry of Transport were able to reach an agreement this morning in the framework of the claim for the payment of tariff compensation.

It should be noted that the measure implied the total cessation of these services today between 1:00 p.m. and 4:00 p.m., thus adding to the reduction in frequencies that the companies had been carrying out for several days. In this way, it was expected that thousands of users who travel daily from La Plata to CABA would be affected.

Sources from the Ministry of Transport of the Nation confirmed that this decision was made after a series of meetings that took place between the directors and technicians of the portfolio during the morning, and with a view to holding a meeting between the authorities and representatives of the business chambers, scheduled for 4:00 p.m.

This is the meeting that was convened yesterday by the Ministry in order to approach positions with the directors of the cameras that had announced a new cut in the bus service for this afternoon, between 1:00 p.m. and 4:00 p.m.

Most of these lines even stopped their services again at dawn today to complain about the delay in the accreditation of tariff compensation funds by the State.

The Business Chamber of Passenger Auto Transport (CEAP), the Business Chamber of Urban Transport of Buenos Aires (Cetuba), the Chamber of Transport of the Province of Buenos Aires (Ctpba), the Argentine Association of Businessmen of Automotive Transport (Aaeta) and the Chamber of United Entrepreneurs of Urban Passenger Transport of Buenos Aires (Ceutupba), were the ones that communicated the “reduction of services due to lack of resources”.

The measure that would again paralyze the lines that go from 1 to 199 this afternoon, with the exception of the Dota company, was a claim for the delay in the accreditation of tariff compensation funds by the State.

The Minister of Transportation, Diego Giuliano, had stated that “this week” they were going to catch up with the payments owed by the Compensation Fund.

Meanwhile, the president of the Business Chamber of Urban Transportation of Buenos Aires, Mario Vacca, assured that “some money came in.” For this reason they decided to lift the measure, explained the head of the entity.

In relation to the local lines of this Region, spokespersons for the regional system had told this newspaper that for the moment there will be no interruptions in services and that they will function normally.

However, from the agreement, any possibility of unemployment in the Region would be relegated at this point.

The initiative developed last night and the night before night affected the national lines with a route in the Metropolitan Area of Buenos Aires (AMBA), from 1 to 199. The protest coincided, on Monday night, with the strike announced on the subway lines C and D, from 22.
