Vivo Mobile Communications Co. should soon update its line of folding cell phones, and new information indicates that the X Fold 2 and X Flip models should arrive on April 20th. The date appeared in a photo revealed on the Weibo social network, but has not yet been confirmed by the company.

With this, the brand can complete a one-year cycle since the launch of the first Vivo X Fold, or six months since the appearance of the X Fold Plus. The X Flip, in turn, will be the brand’s first device with a compact folding format.

Vivo X Fold 2 should have a large screen and 120 W recharge

According to previously released rumors, the Vivo X Fold 2 will have an internal screen of 8.03 inches – therefore, larger than the 7.6-inch Galaxy Z Fold 4. This panel should also bring AMOLED technology, a resolution of 2,160 x 1,916 pixels, a refresh rate of 120 Hz and a maximum brightness of 1,800 nits.

On the outside, the cell phone display can be 6.53 inches, with a resolution of 2,520 x 1,080 pixels. Refresh rates should remain at 120 Hz, but brightness would stay at 1,600 nits.

The Vivo X Fold 2’s performance set should be led by a Snapdragon 8 Gen 2 processor, along with up to 12 GB of RAM and 512 GB of storage. Its operating system will be Android 13, with the typical Origin OS interface of the brand.

On the back, its main camera should have a 50 MP sensor, aligned with two other 12 MP components for ultrawide and telephoto. Two 16 MP cameras can be used for selfies on the internal and external screen, and the contents should bring more improved processing through the Vivo V2 chip.

The construction of Vivo X Fold 2 should house a 4,800 mAh battery, with support for 120 W wired recharges. Wireless charging should also be available, at 50W.

Vivo X Flip could be new competitor for Galaxy Z Flip 4

In turn, the Vivo X Flip should bring a smaller build to compete with the Galaxy Z Flip 4. In this case, its internal screen would be 6.8 inches, with Full HD + resolution and support for refresh rates at 120 Hz.

On the outside, a large rigid display should gain prominence, occupying a large part of the rear panel. On the side, the camera module will have a circular shape.

Its processor must be a Snapdragon Plus Gen 1, along with up to 12 GB of RAM and 512 GB of internal storage. Again, the operating system must be Android 13 with Origin OS.

The Vivo X Flip’s primary camera should have a 50 MP Sony IMX866 as the main sensor, along with a 12 MP Sony IMX663 for ultrawide. The set will have components signed by the German brand Zeiss.

The device’s battery should have a capacity of 4,400 mAh, with support for fast recharges of up to 44 W via USB-C cable.

Vivo Pad 2 should be a surprise

In addition to the new foldable cell phones, Vivo Mobile may present the Pad 2 tablet as a surprise at the event on the 20th. The device is expected with a MediaTek Dimensity 9000 processor, along with up to 12 GB LPDDR5 RAM and 512 GB of UFS 3.1 storage.

The product’s LCD screen can measure 12 inches, with a refresh rate of 144 Hz and a resolution of 2,560 x 1,600 pixels.

It was also previously said that the tablet should support 44W recharges. It will run Android 13, on an Origin OS that should be adapted for larger screens.

The Vivo Mobile event should take place at 8 am in Brasilia time, or 7 pm local time. Until then, more information about the devices may appear in leaks.
