TikTok has launched a narration tool with the voice of the robot Optimus Prime, leader of the Autobots and protagonist of the Transformers franchise. Users will be able to use the hero’s voice to narrate text in their videos through the “Spoken Text” function.
The novelty is now available this Thursday (1st) on the iOS and Android app for anyone who wants to speak with the metal hero’s robotic voice. The service uses text-to-audio technology that reads naturally.
Here in Brazil, Prime’s voice is made by the voice actor Guilherme Briggs. For other countries, only the original English voice dubbed by Peter Cullen will be available.
How to use the voice of Optimus Prime on TikTok?
To insert Optimus Prime’s narration in TikTok videos, just follow the step by step below:
- Film or upload the desired video;
- Press the red button in the lower right corner of the screen to advance;
- Tap the “Aa (Text)” icon on the side menu;
- Write the desired text — it can be moved anywhere on the screen;
- Click on the “Spoken Text” tool icon;
- Choose the voice “Optimus Prime”;
- That’s it, now the desired text will be read with the traditional robotic voice of the leader of the Autobots.
It’s worth remembering that this feature should be on the rise in the next few days, thanks to the promotional action, so it’s a good chance to make your content go viral. Create short videos as usual and then insert the robot’s voice for that extra creative touch.
Transformers no TikTok
“Actions like these show the strength that entertainment has on the app, allowing the community to have one more way to expose all their creativity through the platform’s resources,” explained a TikTok spokesperson.
The action is the result of a partnership between TikTok and Paramount Pictures, owner of the rights to the Transformers series. The film Transformers: Awakening of the Beasts is scheduled to debut on June 8 in Brazil.
Based on the ‘Beast Wars’ season of 1990s animation, ‘Transformers: Rise of the Beasts’ will take audiences on a global adventure with the Autobots in 1994. The film will take the battle between Autobots and Decepticons from Earth to the Maximals, a new Transformer generation.
This is not the first time that the two companies have come together in a promotional action. In 2022, the voice of popular serial killer Ghostface, from the Scream series, was used in TikTok voiceovers.
Recently, TikTok began testing Tako, its artificial intelligence assistant for the service. The AI would be able to chat with users and make video recommendations based on searches. In addition, the service also introduced a new exclusive font: TikTok Sans, which takes the place of Proxima Nova.
