Eight girls’ and six boys’ teams from five countries took part in the 12th International Savings Banks Cup. In the halls in Gisingen, the numerous spectators from near and far were offered gripping and exciting volleyball games.

On the first day of the game everything went as expected. The selections from Baden/Württemberg won their games with ease. The only surprise was the victory of the girls from host FFG Feldkirch against the girls from Höchst. After the women from Feldkirch also remained victorious against Eschen/Mauren, they were surprisingly in the semi-finals. There was nothing to be gained against the later winners Baden/Württemberg. In the small final grew Anna Lena Malin and her colleagues surpassed themselves and won against the Volleyball-Akademie Stuttgart with 2:1 sets. The best placement in 12 years so far!

For the boys, the youngsters from VfB Friedrichshafen faced Baden/Württemberg. Despite being behind in a set, the “Häflern” still managed to turn things around and win the game. Both teams offered volleyball at a very high level.

At the award ceremony, which by Sports Town Councillor Mag. Nathalie KochASVÖ Vorarlberg President Joe Lampert and Janine Breuss was carried out by the Sparkasse Feldkirch, all active participants could look forward to a non-cash prize, the winning teams to medals and challenge cups.
