The heat does not help and the fire does not stop in the Region. Yesterday afternoon there was a pasture fire in a field in the Villa Elvira area, which spread over a radius of 16 hectares. The flames caused inconvenience and there were several neighbors affected by the smoke.

Official sources reported that the fire took place from 86th Street to 90th Street, and from 9th to 13th Street, where huge columns of smoke also formed.

In the area there were “scattered igneous foci of grasslands, large eucalyptus trees and partial affectation of homes,” Security spokespersons detailed.

In this sense, they indicated that at least four properties had been hit by these remains, setting themselves on fire. For this reason, at least five Fire Departments worked to control the flames, both on the property and in the affected homes.

Firefighters from La Plata (Central Headquarters, Los Hornos and San Carlos) were present at the scene.

Finally, it is worth mentioning that the burns caused damage to 60% of the structures, residents were evacuated and two firefighters were assisted by medical personnel as they were exhausted after controlling the flames.
