Wanted: Dead shows more of its bloody battles in a new gameplay trailer.

Sword and firearms alternate

For Wanted: Dead, the makers promise a “real hardcore challenge”, with the Ninja Gaiden series serving as inspiration for the game’s combat system.

You have to switch between firearms and your sword in close combat. Basically, protagonist Hannah always has her gun with her, other weapons, such as assault rifles, SMGs, LMGs and grenade launchers, you pick up from killed enemies.

“Choose wisely though, as choosing the right weapon mix can mean the difference between life and death in a fight,” it says.

In battles, you must combine run-and-gun mechanics to gain the upper hand. Blocking and countering enemy attacks is also important.

On top of that you have combos and can unlock more skills in the skill tree, which are divided into the three categories offense, defense and utility. This should allow for different playstyles, depending on what suits you best.

Wanted: Dead will be released on February 14, 2023 for PC, PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X/S, Xbox One and PlayStation 4.
