Warning of fecal bacteria finding on some New Jersey beaches

More than a dozen beaches in southern New Jersey They are under a bacteria warning due to fecal eses in the water that could affect humans with their bacteria.

These are bodies of water in the coastal Atlantic, Cape May, Monmouth and Ocean counties that are undergoing daily environmental testing.

These are the following beaches:

  • Atlantic – Atlantic City, Albany Ave Ocean Front
  • Cape May – Avalon Borough 57th St (Bay)
  • Cape May – Cape May City, Philadelphia
  • Cape May – Upper Township Beesley’s Point Beach
  • Cape May-Wildwood Crest Borough, Hollywood
  • Monmouth-Highlands Borough, Highlands Rec Center
  • Ocean – Lavallette Borough, Brooklyn
  • Ocean – Ocean Gate Borough, Anglesea
  • Ocean – Pine Beach Borough, East Beach Station Ave
  • Ocean – Point Pleasant Borough, River
  • Ocean – Point Pleasant Borough, Maxon
  • Ocean – Seaside Heights Borough, Hancock
  • Ocean – Seaside Park Borough, 5th Ave Bay Front

The recommendation is not to enter the water, you can stay on the sand sunbathing, but be careful because if you come into contact with the sea you could become contaminated and suffer gastrointestinal problems.

According to the NJ Department of Environmental Protection, an additional 205 beaches are open and free of bacteria.

During Wednesday and the rest of the week, water tests will be carried out on the 13 affected beaches to determine if they are safe for bathers.
