John Nyutstumo plays “Oddvar” in the popular series, but before that he worked permanently at Teater Innlandet.
Suddenly one day he gets a phone call from director Simen Alsvik. He wondered if John would stop by for a little chat.
– I was simply deceived, Nyutstumo tells God kveld Norge.
Several times the director said that this was no audition and that he only wanted to have a small conversation.
Because when he arrived he was greeted by a surprise. One of the series’ writers was ready with a camera and a notebook.
– I never go to auditions, but that’s what this was. I was a bit tricked, but I’m very happy about that today.

After a full 100 episodes of the comedy series, Nyutstumo is neither tired of recording nor the gang, but he says that he wants a new twist.
– I think we should make “Next Easter”. Or perhaps a feature film shot in Sicily, where we settle a showdown with the mafia.
Only in the pilot
Janne Formoe explains to Good evening Norway that she was the only one of her co-actors who played in the pilot episode.
– They were going to apply for money for the series, and then only I was involved. Not Trond or Eivind, she says with a laugh as she points to her colleagues.
Later, Janne and Trond played against each other at an audition in a nice garden, and think that the experience was very good.
Asked them to come back later
Johannes Joner says that he finds auditions often difficult.
– When I was going to try my hand at being the well-chairman, there was only a young, nice guy with a camera there. I wondered if the director, writer or someone else was there. When he answered “no”, I went home and asked them to call me when one of them was here.
He wanted this to gain more insight into what was expected and what this was about. The solution was to come back later, which turned out well.
Kleint to play married couple
Ellen Horn remembers her audition for the comedy series very well.
– You get very excited when you are invited to an audition. It was great fun because I recognized myself so well in this cabin universe. I was terribly happy when I got that role.
Ellen and John play the married couple in the popular series, and reveal that they sometimes get a little shy.
– There are several indications that these old people have sex and go on “trips” and enjoy themselves and the like. It is quite small, but basically it has been very cosy.

– It’s not a chore at all, just cosy, adds Nyutstumo quickly.
Horn says that she had followed Nyutstumo for several years, and that she was very happy when she found out that he was going to play the husband.
