For the past two days, American law enforcement has been deploying significant resources around Cleveland, Texas, to find the armed man.

More than 200 U.S. law enforcement officers have been searching since Friday for a man who killed five of his neighbors in Cleveland, Texas, reports theAP news agency.

$80,000 reward

For two days, the hunt has been unsuccessful. “I can tell you right now, we have no leads,” FBI special agent James Smith said on Sunday.

A reward of 55,000 dollars was proposed by the governor and the FBI matched this sum with an additional 25,000 dollars for anyone with information leading to the arrest of the suspect.

“We will not stop looking for Francisco Oropeza until he is arrested,” warned FBI agent James Smith.

The shooter is a 38-year-old man. He is considered “armed and dangerous”, according to the FBI, which asks anyone not to approach him and to call the police.

Shots in his garden

The killing erupted overnight from Friday to Saturday while the suspect was practicing shooting in his garden, according to a witness quoted by AP. The neighbors then asked him to stop the noise in order to allow a baby to sleep, but Francisco Oropeza pointed the gun at them.

Law enforcement found four dead in the house and four people were taken to hospital, including an 8-year-old child who died of his injuries.

All these people are from Honduras, causing great emotion in this Central American country. “We demand that the law be enforced against the person or persons responsible for this crime,” Honduran Foreign Minister Enrique Reina said on Twitter.

According to AP, since the tragedy, hundreds of people have come to lay flowers in front of the house where the events occurred.
