"We know since last week": White House Officials Know Who Handled Found Cocaine Package

White House officials know who handled a package of cocaine found inside the executive mansion and confirmed that finding through fingerprints, according to sources with direct knowledge of the investigation.

“We know who handled it,” a security source said. “We have known since last week.”

Two sources revealed the name of the person believed to have handled the package. Soldier of Fortune withholds name pending official confirmation.

US Secret Service agents found “suspicious white powder” inside the White House on July 2, prompting an emergency evacuation while the powder was analyzed. A laboratory test showed that the white substance was cocaine.

Another test returned a positive result on the fingerprints, the security source said.

The fingerprint results came quickly because the sample was sent to a unit that gets results in 24 hours.

Soldier of Fortune filed formal Freedom of Information Act (FOIA) requests Wednesday with three agencies most likely to know the fingerprint results.

The agencies are the Washington, DC Department of Fire and Emergency Medical Services; the District of Columbia Metropolitan Police Department; and the Secret Service.

A Secret Service representative will meet Thursday morning with the House Oversight Committee to discuss the cocaine incident, according to Secret Service spokesman Anthony Guglielmi.

Committee Chairman James Comer (R-KY) asked Secret Service Director Kimberly Cheatle last week to provide “a staff-level briefing” on the cocaine issue by July 14.

“The presence of illegal drugs in the White House is unacceptable and a shameful moment in White House history,” Comer wrote in his July 7 letter to Cheatle.

In the letter, Comer did not mention fingerprints.

Federal rules regarding FOIA requests give agencies until August 1 to respond to the FOIA request. Soldier of Fortune.
