The French director is at the helm of this explosive new part of the saga Fast and Furiouswhich hits theaters this Wednesday.
To the saga Fast and Furious returns to theaters this Wednesday for a new chapter titled Fast X. At the wheel of this explosive feature film, the Frenchman Louis Leterrier. The director to whom we owe the films The carrier, far from the ring road or Elusive had taken over control of the project in 2022 following the defection of Justin Lin.
The filmmaker explains that at the time he received an emergency phone call from the boss of Universal Studio to offer him to take over the project, the filming of which had just begun.
“My wife was a little sick, she opens one eye and she says to me: ‘what’s wrong with you? You look very pale. I explain to her and I tell her that I’m not going to do the film because it will be too complicated”, explains Louis Leterrier to BFMTV.
“And there, she suddenly gets up and she becomes the Exorcist. She said to me: you’re going to do it, it’s your dream”, describes the director with humor.
“He is a tireless worker”
Once on set, Louis Leterrier only had five short days to prepare and find his place in a team that has been working together for ten films. But the director quickly found a major ally in the person of Vin Diesel.
“I got off the plane and went straight to see Vin. I spent half a day with him and really we talked about everything. We sang Brel, I even have some great videos,” says Louis Leterrier.
The alchemy is then created between the actor and the director. “He is a tireless worker. And his super power is kindness”, assures Vin Diesel at the microphone of BFMTV.
Now inseparable, the duo will also reform for an eleventh opus in the saga. Fast and Furiousexpected in cinemas in 2025, as well as a twelfth and final film, announced by Vin Diesel in mid-May.
