Willy Chirino, who turned 76 last April, arrived in Miami in 1961 as part of Operation Pedro Pan when he was only 14 years old. A year later he was reunited with his parents.

An iconic figure of Cuban exile and music, who has provided a voice and has been the soundtrack for generations of so many compatriots, Willy Chirino has repeatedly expressed gratitude to the country that welcomed him as a teenager and where he has made his successful artistic career. and built the family that brings him so much happiness.

In January, the Miami Museum of History opened the exhibition “Willy Chirino: 50 years of music“, with a collection of documents, personal objects, awards and photos, in recognition of the legacy and career of the renowned Cuban singer-songwriter.

The 50 years of his artistic career were celebrated with concerts in Miami and Colombia.
