The weather in Berlin and Brandenburg shows its wintry side at the weekend. Nothing stands in the way of a sleigh ride on Saturday evening, at least in southern Brandenburg. According to the German Weather Service, around 2 to 5 cm of fresh snow should fall there into the night.

Berliners, on the other hand, have to be content with slush and ice. The maximum temperatures in Berlin and Brandenburg are between 0 and 3 degrees on Saturday. In north-east Brandenburg there can be sleet on Sunday night.

Sunday also begins with rain or snow and freezing wet weather. A maximum of 2 degrees is reached during the day, with a weak to moderate northeast wind. The roads will remain slippery on Monday night and snow may fall from the sky again in places.

At the start of the week, the meteorologists expect only slightly higher temperatures of up to 3 degrees on Monday, with high fog and heavy clouds. Rain and snow should then no longer fall, nor in the following days. (dpa)
