Directed by Sam Raimi (the filmmaker behind the first trilogy Spiderman), Doctor Strange in the Multiverse of Madness is clearly the most visually creative MCU film. We told you when it was released: the feature film develops, for two hours, a controlled chaos, more thrilling than ever. Doctor Strange 2 still offers a charismatic role to Benedict Cumberbatch, but the actor is here upstaged by Elizabeth Olsen. Already overwhelming in the series Wanda Vision, the actress is brilliant in a character all in darkness. Series Extraordinary on Disney +, an English comedy between mental health and ass jokes
Imagine: you are in a world where everyone has a superpower… except you. Well, that’s precisely the story of Jen, in Extraordinary, available on Disney+. This English series reverses the very principle of superheroes to make them extraordinarily ordinary. But does the lack of special abilities necessarily make us uninteresting? This is the question to which Extraordinary tries to answer, criticizing in passing the injunctions to always be the best version of oneself.
With its 25-minute format and caustic humour, this little candy feel good thus develops an unexpected and melancholic statement about our mental health. Strange mix between English comedy, parody of the Marvel universe and social criticism, Extraordinary unfortunately fails with a narration that is sometimes too overexcited and a bit obsessed. If the balance between emotion and humor lacks finesse, the series remains a little candy, perfect for binge watcher the time of a weekend.
