The Spurs player said that when they told him it was Britney Spears, he thought it was a joke. She found out hours later that she was indeed the singer, mostly from the news the next day.

I am aware of him saying that I ‘grabbed him from behind’, but I just tapped him on the shoulder. His security guard punched me in the face, in front of everyone. He almost knocked me down and knocked my glasses off“.
Britney mentions in her letter that violence must end and invites everyone to treat everyone with respect. And as we said, she denies that they apologized, because she says she is still waiting for a apology from Victor Wembanyama, his security and his team.

Also according to TMZ, Britney would have filed a complaint, but sources from said media reported that the authorities ruled out that it was a criminal matter. Again, another version (presumably from the Police Department) suggests that yes they are fully investigating what happened to determine if there will be criminal sanctions.
