The only thing this romance has in common with Tina Turner’s world hit is the title.
Story: Documentary filmmaker Zoe ( Lily James, 33) desperately needs a new topic and begs her childhood friend Kazim (Shazad Lativ, 34) to let him accompany him with the camera when he’s looking for a partner.
The special thing: Kazim’s Pakistani parents take over the bride show. Not only for Zoe the eponymous question arises: what does that have to do with love?
For director Shekhar Kapur (77), this little romance is a finger exercise. The Indian filmmaker is known for great epics like “Elizabeth” or “The Four Feathers”.
Conclusion: Arranged Marriages, another culture, love and all this in a cheerful, not silly comedy. Absolute highlight: Emma Thompson as the odd mother of Lily James.
