Many BVB and Bundesliga fans fear that the second half of the season will be overshadowed by an enormous transfer banter. It was the same last season with Robert Lewandowski and Erling Haaland, who were willing to emigrate at the time. This year the protagonist: 19-year-old superstar Jude Bellingham.

The rumors of change have been in full swing for months: Liverpool FC started bidding for Jude Bellingham in October, at which time other English clubs had already expressed their interest in the international.
In the meantime, advertisers such as Chelsea FC are said to have already been rebuffed, while interested parties from mainland Europe, such as PSG, only got into Bellingham poker comparatively late. Even at industry leader Real Madrid, signing the English international is “priority”. The Spaniards should even be pretty sure of the transfer.
A maximum of 110 million euros for BVB: Real wants to refuse betting
Jude Bellingham’s price tag had apparently initially irritated those responsible at Real: In the past, the officials around President Florentino Pérez were used to dictating the price themselves for superstars in the highest category, because nobody could outbid them anyway.

The fact that clubs with rich investors – some of which are state-owned – have pushed the Bellingham Prize up to 150 million euros has apparently forced the Madrilenians to rethink. “[Madrid] know it never [so wertvolle] contracts like other clubs can offer”writes the Spanish newspaper “Marca”, which is close to Real.
Accordingly, the club does not want to participate in a bet. For BVB this means: “Madrid will be around 110 million euros [Ablöse] not exceed”, as the “Marca” announces.
That initially sounds like a transfer defeat for the royals if Manchester City or PSG would offer more. But: Should Bellingham absolutely and exclusively want to switch to Madrid – and possibly threaten to sit out his contract – BVB could be forced to let him go for a suboptimal offer.
Real wants to lure Bellingham with sporting arguments
Accordingly, the Spaniards hope that Bellingham’s upcoming transfer is not just about the money. “If Real realizes that the footballer is looking for an auction, then you go to another“, writes “Marca”. “In sport, successes, a competitive squad, a respectable coach and a perfectly structured club are the arguments that are put on the table,” believes “Marca”.
When he switched to BVB, the Englishman turned down higher-paying offers because he was hoping for optimal development in Dortmund. For the same reason, Bellingham could now make the leap to the Spanish capital.
In addition, the Madrilenians see it as a great honor to be able to wear the jersey of the “Royal”.. Recently, Brazilian talent Endrick and midfielder Aurélien Tchouaméni could be lured to Real despite financially better offers.

However, English media reported some time ago that the Premier League was the Bellingham family’s dream destination. The 19-year-old’s father had played in the lower divisions in England at the time, and negotiations with Liverpool FC are said to have progressed. Still, ‘Marca’ believe Bellingham can’t resist Real’s reputation.
Anthony Modeste was celebrated by Cologne fans for years. He was considered a crowd favorite at the latest after he shot his team into the Europa League in 2017 with 25 goals this season. Then came the move to China, where he was not happy.
