The Alameda Theater in Seville, within the framework of the Latin Grammy Awards ceremony in the Andalusian capital, has been the place chosen by Radio Televisión Española to reveal the sixteen candidates to represent Spain in the Eurovision Song Contest, thus succeeding Blanca Paloma. The contest is becoming more and more attractive for artists, since this year a record of proposals has been registered again, with 825 candidates compared to 455 the previous year.
The event, which was attended by a large audience, also featured performances by several of the most prominent artists of the last edition. Ace, Blanca Paloma, Vicco, Agoney, Alfred Garca, Gonzalo Hermida and the Tanxugueiras have not been missing, among other singers with a past in the competition.
The final, on February 3
The 2024 Benidorm Fest will follow exactly the same format as on other occasions, although for this year the number of contestants has been reduced by two. The first semi-final will be held on January 30, while the second will be on February 1. The grand final, in which four qualifiers from each qualifying phase will take part, will be on Saturday, February 3.
Tickets for the festival will go on sale in December. Passes for the first semi-final can be purchased on the Benidorm Fest website from December 4, those for the second semi-final from the 11th and those of the grand final, from which the representative of Spain in the Eurovision Song Contest in Sweden 2024 will emerge, from December 18.
